Hey everyone! I hope you’re all having an amazing week!

Onto this week’s recipe!

Breakfast seems to be one of those meals that a lot people skip. I believe that if you struggle to stay on track during the day, having a nutritious breakfast is KEY to avoid reaching for junk throughout the day. But, I know a lot of us are busy and can’t prepare a whole meal in the morning so I suggest trying out smoothies and shakes.

It’s important to make sure that you add nutrition to your shake, not just carbs and sugar (from fruit). Think protein, healthy fats and even greens if you can.

On to todays breakfast recipe…

Strawberry Banana Breakfast Shake

Makes 1 serving
½ banana
1 scoop Juice Plus Complete French Vanilla protein powder (LOVE THIS STUFF)
1 tablespoon flaxseed oil* (or ground up flaxseeds, chia or sunflower)
1/4 cup strawberries, sliced*
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup Coconut water
1 cup baby spinach (optional)
ice (optional)

1. Place all ingredients in a blender and process at high speed until well combined.
2. You may want to add ice, depending on how cold and thick you like your smoothie.

TIP: You can prep all the ingredients the night before in a ziplock bag, and then in the morning just dump it all in the blender. Voila! Quick and easy and most importantly, nutritious breakfast that can be taken with you to work or school.

Hope you love todays recipe and you give it a try. Let me know in the comments below what your favorite breakfast meal is? I’d love to hear from you!

Stay Happy and Healthy!
